MOLOT VEDIM "Asylum" (Serpent´s Lair)

Russland, ein gar gigantischer Landstrich, ebenso rau wie schön, voll von schier unerschöpflicher Natur- und Alkoholreserven. Und schon seit geraumer Zeit die Herkunft unzähliger viel versprechender Newcomer in Sachen Pagan oder Black Metal an sich. Auch dieses mit symmetrisch korrektem Corpsepaint bemalte Quintett wartet mit absolut hochkarätigem Melodic Black Metal auf, dessen mannigfaltiger Ideenreichtum von atemberaubender Anmut scheint. Und so blitzsauber, wie sich MOLOT VEDIM geschminkt haben, so spielen die Jungs auch zum zwar entfesselten, aber in Sachen Takt-Manieren eher gesitteten Geißbocktanz auf. Perfekt aufeinander eingespielt, wie man es sehr selten hört. Und eine sehr geheimnisvolle Mystikgarde sind sie, über die man – bis dato – weder im Internet noch sonst irgendwo brauchbare Informationen bekommt, mit denen man das Dunkel um sie ein wenig ausleuchten könnte. Das sollte sich jedoch aufgrund der dramatisch hohen Güte ihrer Bestienlieder binnen kürzester Zeit ändern, so der Teufel will und die anvisierten Fans ausreichend Info bzw. Schnallung besitzen. Überragend voluminös produziert, entfalten sich die hier enthaltenen acht Songknüller nach und nach als individuelle Musterbeispiele dieser Musikrichtung, allesamt mit deutlich ausgeprägtem Vorbildcharakter. Den obskur klingenden Bandnamen würde man höchstwahrscheinlich ebenso schnell wieder vergessen wie die doch sehr unscheinbare Aufmachung dieser komplett in der Heimatsprache der Band gehaltenen Import-Veröffentlichung – wenn da nicht diese acht unglaublich schönen Edelperlen an qualitativ überragendem Songmaterial und grenzenloser Spielleidenschaft wären. Den beliebten finnischen Elitemelodikern Catamenia nicht unähnlich, zischen und peitschen sich MOLOT VEDIM, diese fünf blutjungen Russentalente durch ihr restlos begeisterndes Repertoire, dessen tiefe Musikalität über weite Strecken fast sprachlos vor Staunen macht. Trotzdem wurde glücklicherweise ausreichend ekstatisches Geknüppel zwischen der ganzen spielerischen Noblesse verstaut, dass es stellenweise nur so donnert und kracht. Des Öfteren mit pianoartigem Keyboardspiel, besinnlicher Akustikgitarrenbegleitung sowie erhaben-bombastischen Tragik-Atmosphären versehen, ist kein einziger noch so kleiner Ausfall auf diesem Album zu finden; nicht mal, wenn man danach sucht. Ich werde mir jetzt erstmal einen doppelten Wodka hinter die Binde kippen. Um ausgelassen, aber ehrfürchtig, mit erhobenem Glas gen Russland zu prosten. Also dann: Nastrovje, auf MOLOT VEDIM, diesen fünfköpfigen Glücksfall!
